20th Century Flicks + Christmas Steps Pint

Possibly Bristol’s cutest cinema date — and definitely one of its smallest.

Hidden away on Christmas Steps, 20th Century Flicks is an old-school independent film shop with two tiny private cinemas tucked inside. Pick a classic, settle into your own little screening room and pretend you’ve hired out an entire cinema because you’re incredibly fancy.

After wander a few doors down for a pint at The Christmas Steps. Rain outside, cosy pub, tiny cinema — basically the perfect Bristol rainy-day combination.

Bristol Museum + Park Street
Wander Bristol Museum & Art Gallery, entry is free, and there’s loads to explore. A great rainy-day date, head down Park Street after to Mrs Potts Chocolate House for a disgustingly good chocolate cake, think Matilda IRL or Hem Coffee, a small, Scandi-inspired speciality coffee spot with great people watching.

Chance & Counters + Cosy Pint

A date for anyone who gets slightly too competitive over a board game.

Start with a drink at The Christmas Steps, a cosy historic pub right on the Steps. It has rotating craft beers and local ales, plus a free jukebox — so grab a pint, pick a questionable song and enjoy one of Bristol’s cutest little streets.

Then wander approximately 10ft across the road to Chance & Counters, Bristol’s original board-game café, tucked at the bottom of Christmas Steps.
