Privacy Policy

Nook helps couples support each other and plan time together. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Nook is operated from Bristol, UK.

What we collect

• Your name and email (to create your account)
• Check-ins you log: energy, mood, and — only if you choose to track it — period status, symptoms, and what would help
• Notes, check-in sessions, action points, important dates, and photos you add
• Activities and content you save
• If you connect Google Calendar: your calendar free/busy times (see below)

Google Calendar data

Connecting your Google Calendar is optional. When you connect it, Nook requests read access and uses it only to query your free/busy times via the Google Calendar API. We use this to show which evenings you have free and to spot evenings when you and your partner are both free, so we can suggest dates that fit.

• We never read, store, or display the titles, guests, locations, or any other details of your calendar events — only whether a time is busy or free.
• Your free/busy data is used in real time and is not retained after the request that produces a suggestion.
• Your partner never sees your calendar — only the resulting “you’re both free” suggestion.
• You can disconnect at any time in Settings, which immediately deletes your stored Google access and refresh tokens.

Limited Use disclosure. Nook’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use Google user data for advertising, and we do not sell it or share it with third parties.

How we use your data

To run the app for you and your partner: showing check-ins, generating supportive suggestions, recommending activities, and (if enabled) sending you a weekly nudge. Supportive-insight text is generated with the help of an AI provider (Anthropic) from the check-in content you submit; it is not used to train their models.

Who can see it

Only you and the partner you’ve linked your account to (via an invite code) can see your shared data. Nobody else — not other Nook users, not the public — has access. Data is stored in a Supabase-hosted database with row-level security that enforces this at the database level, not just in the interface.

Retention & deletion

You can disconnect Google Calendar at any time (removing stored tokens immediately). To delete your account and all associated data, email us and we’ll remove it. You may also revoke Nook’s access to your Google account at any time via your Google Account permissions.
